Minutes 13th June 2007

Present:

1.       

 

Apologies:

2.       

Committee Members Roles and Responsibilities

·         Job specifications were distributed to all committee members and discussed.

·         All Committee members with outstanding DC2 (OFSTED Declaration and Consent Forms) agreed to complete and return these to the Secretary. Action: E.Bridge & Secretary

·         Committee members agreed to make themselves familiar with the pre-school’s Operational Plan and pre-school Policies and Procedures.

 

3.       

Treasurer’s Update.

·         Account summaries presented for end of May:

·         Day to Day: £7217.48

·         Fundraising: £1199.46

·         Emergency: £3000.00

 

4.       

Health and Safety

·         Committee agreed to the purchase of a new door mat alarm, to ensure child safety and security at the main doorway and a new doorbell for parent’s use. Action: Health and Safety Officer

 

5.       

Purchasing Update.

·         The following items have been purchased by the pre-school: a wooden lightweight wendy-house, a farmyard set, emotion puppets, 5 multi-cultural dolls, computer software  ‘phonics game’, child-friendly keyboard and mouse, a DVD of ‘JollyPhonics’ and dressing up clothes.

 

6.       

Admissions Policy.

·         The new Admissions, Bookings and Charging Policy was discussed and adopted by the Committee to the Operational Plan.  This included detailed procedures relating to: Admissions, Session Charges, Free Places, Additional Services, Lunchtime Charges, Additional Sessions, Cancellation of Sessions and Lunchtimes and Long term Absence.  Policy to be reviewed at the next AGM. 

 

7.       

The Orchard.

·         The need for a new piece of play equipment in the orchard was discussed – following the removal of a fallen tree.  It was agreed that a letter be sent to the Parish Council requesting their support in investigating this matter further and asking for financial support in purchasing a new item. Action: Secretary

 

8.       

Premises.

·         A Premises sub-committee group was created in view of the complex and time-consuming nature of this issue.  This group consisting of Kate Peakman, Marie Hazell, Laura Kies and Kate Marke will meet for the first time on 27th June.

 

9.       

A.O.B.

·         In view of the Government’s new Healthy Eating Guidelines the Health and Safety Officer will look into this matter further and how it applies to Pre-school. Action: Health and Safety Officer

·         During Carnival Week, the Pre-school’s theme will be Africa.
