Treasurers Report
Accounts: approx £5000 in credit. £2000 of which has been raised for the refurbishments.
We are currently in the process if seeking an accountant to audit our end of year accounts.
Thomas asked, from a financial point of view, what is our policy towards fee payment. The answer to this is that our policy is the one laid out by the Pre-School Learning Alliance organisation.

Voting on the new Committee
Due to insufficient numbers of attendees at this meeting we are still unable to officially vote on our new Treasurer, Thomas Goodall. May be next time
Refurbishment Update
The ball is still rolling and plans need to be discussed with the needs of the Church. Once finalised grants can be applied for and work can begin. Due to the scale of the project the amount of time required for the completion of the work will only be found during a summer holiday. Because of the current stage of development it would be reasonable to assume that this rapidly approaching summer holiday will not be the one when the work will be done.
Carnival Procession
The theme this year is Summer Holiday ( a la Cliff Richard). Claire has volunteered her husband Kevin to make the London bus. Claire and Carolyn will be coordinating things with respect to costume creation.
Fancy Dress
The day has been set up and a judge has been found. The judging will be at 2:15pm. We will have medals rather than rosettes. Teas and Coffees will be served. We will have a rota for the manning of the teas and coffees stall. At 3:00pm it will be the pet show and there will be an arena for the pet show and fancy dress.
Fundraising
With respect to Julie’s fundraising pamphlet we wanted to know how much to charge for advertisers. We could ask the parish how much they charge for advertising. We agreed that as much as possible would be best but around a £100 would be reasonable.
We are going to arrange a quiz night.
Recipe book – Claire is pressing on and assembling recipes.
Any Other Business
Claire has asked for a Publicity Person. Someone who would be responsible for getting us some media coverage, contacting the papers, parish news, that kind of thing. Someone to recognise photo opportunities and exploit them. I volunteered to put up an advert in pre-school. As a member of staff Carolyn will help this person by telling them of the opportunities as they arise.
Health and Safety – Sue recognised that the fish tank and fish might present a health and safety concern and also due to other groups complaints the fish will be leaving before the end of term and not returning. Sue also felt that the soap and toilet roll situation was not good however, measures are now in place that mean there will be fresh toilet roll, soap and a towel every day.
Carolyn is now starting an NVQ3 to further her qualifications with respect to working at the pre-school. We all wish her the best of luck and have every confidence in her.
Date for next meeting is: Wednesday 29th of September.
All are welcome and the more that come the better, we are a new committee and extremely welcoming so come and join us for a drink.
Pre-School Meeting
30th June 2004
Supervisors Report
I would like to wish those children going up to Primary School good luck. We have been visiting Stoke Gabriel School for a few weeks now and the children have settled in quite well. I am sure there will be no problem. I look forward to meeting our new starters in September.
I have recently spoken to Rachael Huxley and she is recovering well and hopes to join us for sports day. She will be back at work on the 12th July.
A big thank you to Carolyn Sharp for her help while Rachael was absent.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the committee for their hard work. Also, I would like to thank Sarah Toon, Rachael Huxley and Carolyn Sharp for the help, advice and support in what has been a very successful year for the pre-school. You are all a pleasure to work with.
I wish you all a wonderful summer,
Janet Eddy.
